Maintenance
For various shore-based installations, harbours, terrace and boat bridges, we use Siberian larch or impregnated pine as material. Impregnation does not make timber maintenance-free but instead makes timber resistant to its natural decay. Hence, it is necessary to arrange for the regular maintenance of any shore-based installations, particularly taking into account the applicable environmental factors (saline mist, water spray, UV radiation, ice or snow etc.).
We have developed for our bridges a maintenance package, which we advise our clients to adhere to if possible. An annual schedule for maintenance by us is agreed with clients separately. Under a maintenance schedule, the following services are provided: greasing of bridges, repairs of bridges, lifting of bridges into place and out at the beginning and end of the navigation period.
We have significant maintenance volumes on the Estonian market and will be more than happy to shelter the harbour solution managed by you for upgrading or winter storage.
Over the past years, we have seen a lot of projects with EU funding completed successfully yet removed from operation, due to deficient or no maintenance, already before their nominal amortisation period ends. For safe use, sections of decking need to be replaced, anchoring solutions supplemented, mould eliminated or location changed on bridges. We are prepared to provide our clients with all these activities; in case of a specific interest, please contact our project managers.
